People love to love life when life feels good. But when life sucks, what are you going to do to overcome that struggle, in order for you to provide for your mind, body and soul?

The first guest of our 2019 Trailblazers Masterclass Series is Chazz Scott. Chazz is a returning guest of Trailblazers.FM and was first featured on episode 135.

Charles (Chazz) Scott is a published writer, motivational speaker, self empowerment workshop curator, and an accomplished computer security technologist from Ellicott City, Maryland. He holds both a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Computer Science and a Master’s of Science degree in Cyber Security from Hampton University.

Chazz is the Founder & Chief Creative Optimist of Positively Caviar, Inc. based in the Baltimore-Washington metropolitan area. Positively Caviar, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) that focuses on empowering, inspiring, and motivating all human beings, with a special emphasis on youth, to instill mental resilience by way of positive thinking. His team travels across the Mid-Atlantic delivering high-intensity speaking engagements and hosting their signature BUILD Self-Empowerment workshops that are designed to understand and apply the secrets and science behind the human mind.

When Chazz is not eradicating negativity, he is hunting hackers as a full-time Cyber Security Engineer at the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency defending our Nation’s Cybersecurity infrastructure and satellites.




  • I have started a non-profit 501(C)3 organization based in the Metropolitan, DC-Baltimore area with a number of friends.  The mission is really to instill resilience by way of intentional positive thinking.

  • Our fun and interactive workshops are science-centric, informative and introduce youth to the importance of optimism, understanding their emotions, decision-making and well-being
  • Going through school, going through troubles and adversity and obstacles in my life, I started to realize that I needed something to overcome obstacles.
  • I needed tools; I needed strategies; I needed something because I founded out that when things started happening I did not understand how to control my emotions.
  • The mind is all. Mental health affects all of us.
  • In order for you to master your mind, you must get a grip of it.
  • Life can be hard but when life is good, you seem as if you can do anything.
  • I focus on instilling mental resilience and mental toughness, in order for you to overcome those struggles, and in order for you to continue to attain your highest self.

  • I need to prepare my mind internally, in order for me to have influence externally.

  • When tough times arise, how do you overcome?
  • There is strong scientific research that explicitly states that optimism is at the centre of mental toughness and resilience.
  • Positive thinking is a life strategy.
  • Whatever you’re attracted to is what you believe.  Whatever you believe is what you’re attracted to.
  • Every time I’m hit with something that hurts or I’m in pain or suffering, I continue to think as if the glass is half full rather than half empty.
  • I’m trying to give individuals knowledge, so they can make better decisions in their lives.
  • National Science Foundation put out a study and they said research confirms that the average human has 60,000 thoughts running through their heads everyday.  86% of those thoughts are considered negative, and many of those thoughts are considered repetitive.
  • We put a lot of stress and negative self-talk on ourselves naturally.  It’s innate.  It’s already in us.
  • We must develop strategies and tools in order for you to have positive self-talk in our lives.
  • It’s a war.  Every single day that you wake up in the morning, it’s a war within your mind.
  • In order for you to attain mental peace, you must start your journey.
  • You may have to battle some fears, self-doubt and insecurities, but you have to start your journey.
  • Clarity is power.
  • Thoughts are things.  We become what we think about all day.
  • If your thoughts have an influence on matter, imagine how your thoughts have an influence over the genetic structure of your body.
  • Thoughts => Actions => Habits => Character => Destiny
  • In order for you to have influence on your actions, you have to have positive thoughts.
  • Positive thoughts breed positive actions; positive actions breed positive habits; positive habits influences your character which influences your destiny.
  • The conversation that you have as soon as you wake up in the morning is the most important conversation that you will ever have with anybody on this entire planet.
  • Be mindful of your self-talk.  What are you saying to yourself when times are hard?
  • Life is about intention, attention and attitude.
  • Research shows that optimists are healthier physically and mentally and optimists live longer than pessimists.

  • You have more influence over your genes than your parents have given you.
  • 7 Tips to Master Your Mind and Attain Mental Peace
    • (1) Know what you want and where you want to go, but also be grateful for your journey.
    • But you’ve got to write it down, because clarity is power.
    • Say it. Think it. Write it down. When you do all these three the universe will not deny the things that you want in your.
    • Wherever your focus goes, your energy flows, so what you appreciate appreciates.
    • (2) Know your why, and choose the path of most resistance.
    • There are two conversations that are happening in your head, and you must listen to the one that says, “I think I can.  I think I can!”
    • With friction comes confidence and new neurological pathways to create.
    • (3) Become conscious of the conversations that exist in your head. It’s a direct reflection of how the universe responds to you and how the opportunities are presented to you in your life.
    • (4) Food should be your medicine and medicine should be your food.
    • The type of food that you eat have a direct effect on the decisions that you make.
    • (5) Bury your fears. Your brain does not care about anything but keeping you alive.
    • Fear does not prevent death, it prevents life.
    • Take small wins.
    • Start putting yourself in uncomfortable situations, it give you self-confidence in order for you to become your higher self.
    • (6) Pay attention to who you associate yourself with.
    • Meaningful relationships keep us happier and healthier.
    • You are the average of the 5 people you associate yourself with.
    • Begin looking at your relationships as if those people are adding to or subtracting years from your life.
    • (7) Find a morning routine.  Be proactive not reactive.
    • Life is about moment.  You must wake up in the morning and find your momentum.
    • Feed your mind, body and soul early in the morning in order to create momentum into your day and for you to attack life with everything that you’ve got.
  • Change comes from either pain or passion.
  • Find your will to crush your goals to achieve your highest self.
  • As you confront the world, unrealistic optimism can be the life vest that keeps you afloat.
  • If you can master your brain, you can master your reality.
  • Your life will move in the direction of your words and thoughts.  Speak victory not defeat.
  • You only have 86,400 seconds in the day, and you must schedule it out.
  • You have all the power to attain your goals.
  • Bury all the self-doubt, fear and insecurities in order for you to attack life and  increase the percentages of your desired outcome.
