  • The first step to pitching like a champion is to understand your “why”.  
  • What is the problem that you are solving, and what is the social impact that your company is making?

  • People buy into the story you tell and buy into your company when you are relatable and you demonstrate that.
  • The second step to pitching like a champion is to understand the quantitative value you add. What do the numbers say about the value you add?  What are your metrics?
  • Looking for funding?  Here’s a tip! Stay in the know by setting up Google Alerts for pitch competitions. 
  • Follow the right people on social media and take advantage of the influencer network.  
  • A lot of owners end up with less than 20% of their company after having received VC funding, but bootstrapping allows you to keep the equity in your company.
  • If you want to pitch like a champion, focus on your why; articulate the problem you’re solving and the value that you bring.
